چکیده

Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) is a problem-solving paradigm that solves a new problem by remembering a previous similar situation and by reusing the information and knowledge of that situation. A Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) tool is software that can be used to develop several applications that require case-based reasoning methodology. CBR is based on the intuition that information gained from previous experiences (cases or instances) can be an important tool to provide solutions for, and enhance processes related to, the problem at hand. Therefore, it helps improve outcomes and saving valuable resources. However, large volumes of information can make it a complex task to gain useful insight from historic datasets. CBR is an effective tool to gain useful information in such circumstances and is one of the most successfully applied Artificial Intelligence technologies in recent years. This paper gives background information about CBR software and introduces the most used CBR tools (CBR Shell, FreeCBR, jCOLIBRI, myCBR and eXiTCBR). Then it introduces a comparative analysis study based on some determined factors that affect the CBR software including noisy data or missing values in the cases. It also compares between them from the? Finally, an evaluation of the retrieving phase of each software is introduced.

License Plate location Determination by Using Case-Based Reasoning

The license plate recognition system is part of the intelligent transportation system. In the intelligent transportation system, the vehicle image is used as the system input. The first step is to improve the image, after the edge detection, a series of morphological operations are performed to identify the plaque. The main purpose of this research was to increase the importance of plate re...

INTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING

Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...

Improving Agent Performance for Multi-Resource Negotiation Using Learning Automata and Case-Based Reasoning

In electronic commerce markets, agents often should acquire multiple resources to fulfil a high-level task. In order to attain such resources they need to compete with each other. In multi-agent environments, in which competition is involved, negotiation would be an interaction between agents in order to reach an agreement on resource allocation and to be coordinated with each other. In recent ...

A comparative study on the use of similarity measures in case-based reasoning to improve the classification of environmental system situations

The step of identifying to which class of operational situation belongs the current environmental system (ES) situation is a key element to build successful environmental decision support systems (EDSS). This diagnosis phase is especially difficult due to multiple features involved in most environmental systems. It is not an easy task for environmental managers to acquire, to integrate and to u...
